Likestarlings is a place for talking in poems. We pair poets with poets and they write a sequence of six new works by responding in turn to one another. Our palaver blog goes beyond poetry to discuss collaboration in theory and in practice. Please take a look, and feel free to add comments, opinions and suggestions here. Read poems here

Her Book

She’s reading her book again – holding it

with braille hands, eyes metronoming blank pages.

She’s forgotten that the words fell out,

the font scattering like poppy seeds –

the way we brushed them from her duvet,

sprinkling the carpet in pointed black glitter.

She’s forgotten the day this happened,

the way we lifted each typeface for the bin –

then swept up the text with a dustpan and brush,

hoovered up the acknowledgements, her ISBN.
