Cliff Yates is a freelance writer and teacher. His first collection of poems Henry’s Clock (Smith/Doorstop) won the Aldeburgh first collection prize and the Poetry Business book & pamphlet competition. His latest collection is Frank Freeman’s Dancing School (Salt). During his time as Poetry Society poet-in-residence he wrote Jumpstart Poetry in the Secondary School. He holds a PhD in Poetry and Poetics, and runs courses and workshops in schools and universities in the UK and abroad.
